Creating interactive map charts in excel is one of the easiest things to do.....that is if you know how. I recently created this map chart showing the top 50 tropical storms to hit the Unitef States since 1900. As you move ahead in time from 1900 to 2005, the map shows the states that were hit by the storm, the damage caused, storm category and rank. It takes about 5 lines ...

WSJ ran this graph that shows the probability of a person's dying through various causes. Topping the "death chart" are heart disease (1 in 5), cancer (1 in 7), stroke (1 in 24) and motor vehicle accident (1 in 84). The probability that one will die by drowning is 144 times than being killed by flooding.

These beautiful maps on
Wikipedia show the paths of all the storms in the past few decades. As you can see, these tropical storms are the most ferocious over the Pacific West. The entire region consisting of Japan, China and South East Asia frequently encounter these storm systems.

The former is a local crab. Discovered by me and will probably only ever get a mention in its lifetime in this post. Radius around 5 cm.
The later is the Helix Nebula located 650 light-years away in constellation Aquarius. Discovered by Karl Ludwig Harding, probably before 1824. (according to wikipedia). Often been refered to as the eye of the God. Radius 2.87 light years.
